 Nurbs car render in Mental Ray


The car shown above is a recreation of a Salzgitter AMG Mercedes C-Klasse DTM 2009. It was modelled with NURBS curves and surfaces in Maya as a topology exercise. The render was made in Mental Ray.

 Nurbs anatomy study

The goal of this project was to obtain a better understanding of the human anatomy by recreating all the muscles of a specific part of the human body, in this case the arm. The muscles were made in Autodesk Maya using NURBS curves and surfaces.

In this project I recreated an existing piece of architecture and the environment it is located in. Both the buildings and the environment were made with square even sized polygons to make use of tilesets.





 Recreation of a real life scene in Mental Ray

The goal of this project was to recreate a real life scene in maya and create a realistic render through compositing. The background is the original environment the reference pictures were taken from. To achieve realistc reflections an HDRI map was made by taking photographs of the environment reflected of a sphere with different exposures.

The scene was created in Autodesk Maya and rendered with Mental ray.





The base model was created in Autodesk Maya after which it was taken to Autodesk Mudbox where it was sculpted and textured. Besides scultping and texturing the model also had to be rigged for facial blendshapes.
